Touring Motor Glider Fly-in events, photos and information about TMG's. This Group site contains information and photo's about the 2011 fly-in and photos from previous events. The Touring Motor Glider Fly-In is for all "types" of TMGs and those who are interested in this type of glider. The goal of the assembly is simple: bring similar-type motor gliders and pilots together to have fun and learn from each other. This was the third year of the "gathering," held again in Minden, Nevada. 21 ships representing Grob, Taifun, Ximango, Stemme, Lambada, Samba, Phoenix, Diamond, Pipistral, and Fournier flew in for the event. Aircraft came from California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Between pilots, friends, and prospective buyers, 40 people participated in the flying, presentations, and meals. We believe it is the largest gathering of TMG's in the country, and most likely the world. Several participants were potential buyers of TMG and they were overjoyed to be able to talk to the various owners (and two dealers), and get an opportunity to fly in various aircraft. We hope to see them next year in their own ships. SoaringNV was again the on-site host, providing facilities (office/hangar for meetings), general logistics and soaring expertise. The weather was excellent, the flying superb, and everyone enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow aviators. Presentations on weather, soaring, and mechanical issues were of high interest. Five ships went on to Parowan, Utah to link up with the Auxiliary-powered Sailplane Association's annual meeting. We have set a date for the 2012 Fly-In, July 12 – 15, Minden, Nevada.
