Upcoming calendar upgrade: Yahoo! Groups calendars are being upgraded to a much improved version. You may not have access to the calendar (for up to 24 hours) when this group is upgraded. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Description
This group helps individuals fulfill their greatest potential as humans, strengthens communities, and promotes world peace by teaching universal ethics for a global society. The Timeless Way is a modern view of Confucianism (Ru Jia) as explained in the book, "Achieve Lasting Happiness, Timeless Secrets to Transform Your Life," by Robert Canright. The central lessons of the Analects (Lun yu) are as American as apple pie. The philosophy of self-improvement and community cultivation is compatible with all religions. We welcome people of all faiths. If you want to have a wonderful life and live in a fabulous community, then work with us to achieve this goal. Join us!
Because education contributes so much to achieving a happy life, we are also interested in the philosophy of education. We consider an approach called "The Winding Spring Process of Education," which is based on a work called "The Great Learning," sometimes attributed to Confucius (Kongzi). If you are interested in education, see the Timeless Way Foundation and the blog Education for the 21st Century.
Most of us are in Plano, Frisco, Richardson, or Garland, Texas, which are suburbs north of Dallas, and this is where we have meetings. We believe our goal has world-wide appeal and we welcome people from across the world to join us.

Plato listed four cardinal virtues in "The Republic." Cicero discussed these virtues in his book, "On Duties" (De Officiis). I have noticed these 4 virtues
