The American Lindy Hop Championships is October 22, 23, 24, 25, 2009 at the
Plaza Hotel, 2701 Summer Street, Stamford, CT USA. Call 203.359.1300 to make
your reservation.

Full weekend passes come with 24 class options, 9 dance parties, great DJs, The
Harlem Blues and Jazz Band plus great contest viewing with a Pass  A for $140.
But the price goes up to $150 on October 1. Pass B gives classes on Saturday and
Sunday only for $135 then $145 on the 1st. Pass C is $109 but comes with no
classes. Pass D comes with classes on Sunday for $90, $95 on Oct. 1. Go to class

The Shim Sham Room in Sherman Oaks

On swing nights, Nadia Eftedal's Rhythm Room is transformed into the Shim Sham
Room -- a place for classic swing, blues, and other fun stuff. One of the only
regular swing venues west of the Golden State Fwy, the Shim Sham Room boasts a
1400 sq. ft. floating wooden dance floor, a new state-of-the-art sound system, a
2-story ceiling to give an extra feeling of spaciousness (and to let the heat
rise!), and plenty of space to socialize or take a break. Music provided by
L.A.'s favorite DJ's, with opportunities to hear new talent as well. Started by
a swing-n-blues dancer who wanted more opportunities to dance on the west side
of town, the Shim Sham Room is a fun and accessible place to get your groove
on!

Chazz Young comes to Denver for the Lindy Diversion Dance weekend, October
16-18!

Dancing in Colorado gets better each year!

We have an amazing dance community here; cooporation, teamwork, friendship, and
trust make this possible.  Each venue, dance instructor, organizer, work in
harmony to create a wonderful community.  Words cannot express my gratitude.

Over the past 10 years we our community has thrived. We have danced a lot, had a
great time, made lifetime friends, and have good memories growing in our dance
and advancing our lives.  I was recently watching some videos from events in
Colorado from 11 years ago.  My we have all grown so much!  Some are now
national and international dance champions and instructors.  We are so fortunate
to continually have all the Lindy Hop Greats join us in Denver each year.  As a
result, dancers from all across the country come here to dance….this event is no
exception.

Dancers from NY, CA, CO, NC, AZ, TX, WA, NM, CT, NV are converging in Denver for
this event!

Like I said, each year it just gets better and better.

This year, with the support of CSDC, we are presenting a tribute to Frankie
Manning, featuring special guest Chazz Young, (son of the late and great Frankie
Manning)!
