In ancient Greece, groups of people who gathered in worship around a specific God or group of Gods were called a Thiasos. Here we are gathered together in order to promote reverence and group worship of the Muses (Mousai, in the Greek plural), and wish to revive the practices surrounding them from the ancient Greek world, both on their own, and in connection with Apollon. It is my hope that from this list, local group worship may eventually be formed.
"Let me begin with the Muses and Apollon and Zeus,
because it is through the Muses and far-shooting Apollon
that singers and lyre-players exist upon the earth;
kings are from Zeus. Blessed is the man whom the Muses
love, for sweet speech flows from his mouth.
Hail, children of Zeus! Do honor my song!
And I shall remember you and another song, too.
