An update and discussion group for the AU--no OotP--fifth year epic: "Harry Potter and the Seer's Truth" penned by our Lady LeStrange (carmandoogle). "The prediction and Old Magic hold the key, but will they figure it out in time?"
"The Broken Beginning" - Book One:
Harry's fifth year starts out with a bang - literally - when the Hogwats express crashes enroute. The Dark Mark left hanging over the crash sets the tone for the year and is only the beginning of the mystery. When the sorting hat malfunctions, or is tampered with, things go from bad to worse. Then things get downright creepy when instead of scowling per the norm, Snape is smiling during the Welcoming Feast. As Ron says, "Snape smiling. That means trouble."
Prophecies are being fulfilled and the time is coming when the Dark Mark may be seen above Hogwarts. And it seems Parvati is a true seer and one of her first visions is rather important: "Upon this child rests the future of the wizarding world." The quest for the truth is only beginning, as the child is Not Harry Potter.
The War for the wizarding world has begun in earnest and not even the ancient walls of Hogwarts can keep it from affecting those who reside within. The race in on, both sides trying to be the first to discover this "Prophecy Child," as all of their "fates rest with this one unknown child." But what will happen when the child is finally unmasked?
What is the Seers' Truth?
