Description
This group has been set up as a companion to Dave's 'The_NSWGR_44_class_fans' Yahoogroup.
A group for those of us that appreciate these magnificent ALCo branchline locos of the NSWGR ( its varying incarnations over the years) that have given faithful service since 1959.
Please feel free to submit any photos,stories,articles,news and memories of these majestic machines.
These locos signalled the demise of branchline steam but created another generation of devoted fans who have long appreciated their veratility and interesting history.
The 48 class have long been considered the backbone on the railways in NSW.
The NSW PL, SAR 830/DA, Silverton ST DL531/532 model ALCos worldwide may also be covered on this group.
