The Wired Moose is a friendly discussion and support group for Canadians living and working in North Carolina.
You've seen them...the growing number of vehicles on Triangle highways and biways bearing Canadian license plates or adorned with the Canadian flag on the front plate. We're infiltrating this state like kudzu and many of us feel compelled to reach out to one another but haven't had a means of doing so - until now.
We love North Carolina and this group is for the light-hearted discussion of the intrigues of being Strangers in a Strange Land. We will focus on such "hot button" issues as:
*How can the word barbecue be an adjective, verb, AND 2 different nouns?
*What would you give for a large double-double and a box of Timbits?
*Do we teach our children to sing "zed" in the Alphabet Song - or would we prefer them to have friends?
*Shorts are to hockey as ___________ is to NASCAR?
*Can we be Hurricanes fans and not feel guilty?
*Why can we buy Canadian beer cheaper here? (Not that we're complaining!)
*Where can we buy a decent croissant in the Triangle?
*Chalet sauce...what makes it so addictive?
*Should we maintain our identities or try to "blend", eh?
*Was NC's son, Thomas Wolfe, right when he said, "You can't go home again?"
*Do you want to go home again?
*Is NC "home" now?
*What would tempt you to go home again?
*NC Summers...love them or hate them?
*NC Winters...love them or hate them?
Let's have some fun, friends! All we request is no political discussions, no flaming, and no disrespect to our warm and wonderful Southern hosts.
