This is a FULLY MODERATED group for people who enjoy reading and discussing the Lord of the Rings trilogy with other dedicated devotees of J.R.R. Tolkien. It was NOT originally intended as a group for discussing the acknowledged achievement of Peter Jackson in creating his own vision around those works, nor any of the accomplished, dedicated, and talented people who participated in that realization. I have since relented and believe I have shown remarkable restraint in not flaming anyone who mentioned Orlando Bloom. Most members have finished the first reading, and we are now discussing topics according to the members' interests. Introduction of material from The Silmarillion and other related 'Arda' works by the author, including edited collections of his writings by Christopher Tolkien, and scholarly works by others that relate to them, are to be expected.
