This group celebrates the characters created by Robert E Howard that have appeared in comic books from Marvel Comics,Dark Horse Comics,BOOM Studios,Cross Plains Comics,Dynamite Entertainment etc.

The reason for my return to comics in the early 70's was Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith's run on Marvel's Conan the Barbarian.Later Smith was followed by the legendary John Buscema.Of special interest though were the articles by Roy,Glenn Lord,Fred Blosser,Robert Yaple,Jim Neal etc.that appeared in Savage Tales and Savage Sword of Conan.These put me in touch with the life of Robert E Howard the man behind the stories and eventually led me to Cross Plains in '06

The success of the Conan Dark Horse series by Kurt Busiek,Cary Nord,Greg Ruth,Thomas Yeates,Dave Stewart & Mike Mignola led to Limited Series'/One-Shots from P.Craig Russell,Joe Lansdale,Akira Yoshida,Pat Lee,Joshua Dysart,Tone Rodriguez,Len Wein,Kelley Jones,Jimmy Palmiotti,Mark Texeira & Darick Robertson while Timothy Truman has taken up the writing duties on the on-going title with art from Tomąs Giorello.

Kull by Arvid Nelson and Will Conrad and Solomon Kane by Scott Allie and Mario Guevara have now joined the Dark Horse line-up of REH titles along with an updated version of Pigeons from Hell by Joe Lansdale and Nathan Fox.

June sees the start of an adaptation of Hawks of Outremer from BOOM Studios by Michael Alan Nelson & Damian Couceiro.

New Red Sonja stories are being published by Dynamite Entertainment

I'm sure names such as DeCamp,Carter,Schwarzenegger,Milius etc.will crop up at times but I very much hope that members will find the "real " Howard through his work now appearing from Wandering Star,Subterranean Press,Del Rey,The REH Foundation,Wildside Press,Bison Books,Gollancz etc as well as magazines,articles etc. put out by those in Howard fandom
