Our goal is to help the extraordinarily unique congregation of Ugandan Jews attain recognition in the Orthodox Jewish world (through conversion if necessary) and aid them in their yearning to join the Jewish People in the Land of Israel. While this long term goal is sought we seek to raise money to help ensure their ability to survive, seek education, and gain economic independence.
It is not only through money that you can help. Indeed, 90% of the people we contact may not have significant money to spare. But you know people. We need contacts, shuls to speak at, Rabbis to talk with, awareness raised, etc. Please join and help us in the historic opportunity to help with a mass aliyah and the saving of lives (pikuach nefesh).
As per IRS requirements, all donations sent to PVAO are given to PVAO with the knowledge that we have
ultimate authority to use contributions made to PVAO at our discretion for purposes consistent with our exempt purposes (i.e. providing basic assistance to Putti Village and encouraging its economic self-sufficiency).
While the initial group is based in Chicago, we would love for members to help create new committees in other cities. We now have chapters in South Africa, Washington D.C., Ottawa, and Israel. Please be in touch.
B'ahavat Yisrael,
David Epstein
