This group is for horse lovers ALL OVER THE WORLD who HATE the fact that horses are being ILLEGALLY TRANSPORTED out of the state of California for the purposes of SLAUGHTER. California has the PROUD distinction of being the ONLY state in our NATION to outlaw horse slaughter and WE USE CALIFORNIA AS A SHINING EXAMPLE of GOOD when we lobby for the passage of federal bill S. 311, a bill currently in the Senate that would end the DISPICIBLE practice ONCE and for ALL and FOREVER all across the land. HOWEVER, we find it SHAMEFUL that the CALIFORNIA STATE LAWS prohibiting the interstate transport of horses to slaughter IS NOT being enforced, and we ask ourselves, if we cant enforce the laws in ONE STATE,...how ON EARTH do we propose to enforce it in ANY state anywhere across the land? We simply MUST set a VERY IMPORTANT EXAMPLE for the rest of the Country AND in FACT, the world, and put AN END to the ILLEGAL INTERSTATE TRANSPORT of CALIFORNIA HORSES to SLAUGHTER. We MUST do this IF we are to pay more than "LIP-SERVICE" to our ULTIMATE GOAL of ENDING the SLAUGHTER & EXPORTATION "ONCE & FOR ALL & FOREVER" - acoss the board throughout the land. This GROUP was formed as a GATHERING PLACE for LIKE-MINDED people so we can put our HEADS TOGETHER and hopefully come up with some IDEAS on figuring out just WHAT the PROBLEM is and HOW to correct it to STOP the illegal carnage. The fact that California horses are still being transported out-of-state to slaughter DESPITE prohibitions is a SLAP IN THE FACE to those who WORKED SO HARD to PASS the law and is a GREAT BIG EMBARRASSMENT to us ALL as is a BLEMISH on the ENTIRE Anti-Slaughter Movement. It simply MUST BE STOPPED. If not, all our WORK and our HOPES and DREAMS of bringing an END to the SLAUGHTER of our American Equines will be all for NAUGHT and FUTILE.
