The Art of Knitting published in 1897, now in public domain is copyright free* and is a virtual trove of stitch patterns. It is my goal to rewrite and chart as many of these stitch patterns as possible. But please be patient, It takes some time to figure out some of these patterns and then I have to knit a swatch.

Members of this group, will be notified when new stitch patterns are available. Also you can use this forum to ask questions about the patterns and post photos your finished swatches.
When posting swatch photos, please let us know which pattern you are swatching and the yarn and size needle you used.

If you have a lace design for sale or free, feel free to also post that information in the links. Also put a link to your website in the links folder.

I am storing my swatches in an altered book. A scrapbook would work well and perhaps you can come up with a unique way of your own. If you do, we'd like to see it.
