I should have noted in my last E-mail that there is a strong possibility for
some error in my transcription, since the engraving was in one inch letters
on a slender paramid gray granite stone.... at my 60 plus years, on your
hand and knees, with bifocals..... yes, there is room for error.

I also found my GGrandfather Kurtz, under the name Jan Kurz, Nar 2 Cervna
1828, Micovichich cechy, Zema 12 Dubna 1915. Any suggestions?

Hi Ludwig,
         Nar=short for "born"
         Zema=short for "died"
         Cervna=gen. for June
         Micovichich=Village of Origin, Micovice (I'll check, though)
         Dubna=gen. for April
         Cechy=Bohemia (but could be Moravia in actuality)

Well, I think my problem might be fixed.  I went through the procedure of changing my password, etc. Then had to do a reactivation request, which I did and they say I should get it within the hour.  If I don't I will probably be calling for more help.

I appreciate the time you spent with me on this.  You have been a great help.

Have a nice evening.

G-G Grandfather Albert Anz came to Texas with his wife, Ida Pollock.  They show up in the 1880 Texas Census but not before then.  Their oldest child, Peter, was 6 and shows to be born in Texas as all the rest of their children.  Albert shows to be born in Saxony and Ida shows to be born in Prussia so that is why I'm assuming they must of come over around 1873 or so.  Any information about this family is appreciated.  1880 census shows that they lived in Brackettville, Texas, although my g-grandfather shows to be born in Eagle Pass, Texas.  Most all ended up in San Antonio, Texas.

This is meant in jest, Sylvia, so don't get mad at me!  Did it ever occur to you that maybe Yahoo just doesn't like you?  All kidding aside, don't get discouraged.  A while back this same thing happened to me and it took a while for it to fix itself.  Seems that all computer programs want to be devilish at times!

Hi all,
I overheard a conversation in Clayton library (Houston) where one
lady researcher told another lady researcher that she never listened
to music any longer. This alarmed me since I know the power of
music in a person's life. Out of curiosity, I created a poll that you
are invited to participate in. I'd like to know what genealogists
listen to.

Rate your music tastes on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest.
