Teaching boys respect for girls and women. Boys often grow up in our society believing women are inferior to men. This prejudice causes serious problems for both women and men. Psychologists say that the most effective method for countering prejudice is role-playing. Role-playing is a more informal version of psychodrama, a technique of psychotherapy developed in the 1920s by J. L. Moreno. As its historical roots in psychotherapy indicate, role-playing is a powerful tool for bringing about attitude change.

In the case of boys, role-playing would take the form of having each boy adopt the role of a girl. This can be introduced as "just a game." Experiencing first-hand the role of a girl will help the boy to grow up with genuine respect for women.
