tango music and dancing this coming Wednesday before Thanksgiving.   Many of you

Heart based out of Boulder Colorado.  Over the last twelve years they have
taught thousands of students through out the United States and Northern Europe.

Valle in Buenos Aires.  In addition they are honored to present
TangoEncuentro(tm) Festivals in Boulder with their beloved maestros, tango

Set aside Saturday afternoon, December 5, 3:00 - 5:30pm for two workshops at

Tonight in my 7:00pm tango fundamentals class I will introduce turns in
Argentine Tango.  Turns add another layer to the dance.   As a bonus, at 8:00pm
in the lobby I will put on a DVD of several demos of excellent tango couples

I don't normally forward details about  Denver tango events here as this info is
readily available from other sources.  However, I feel I should highlight an
upcoming Milonga at the Mercury Cafe, 2199 California St in Denver, Friday
October 23.   This will be an event not seen or heard before in Colorado.  A
live tango "Orquesta Tipica" with FIVE bandoneons, five violins, a bass and
piano.  When Nancy and I were in Buenos  Aires, we went to a milonga with this
amount of bandoneon "fire power" and the experience was amazing!   Even if you
don't come to dance, I suggest you come to hear and experience.  I have very
high  expectations.  Car pools are already forming, so e-mail me back if you
would like to go with others from Colorado Springs.  Cost $15.

If you do come to dance; leaders, have your floor craft skills honed!   As the
sound will be like BA, I expect this event to be crowded like BA!   You have
heard the phrase: It takes two to tango; many serious tango dances say: It takes
200 to tango!   It is not about you as a leader leading only what you want to
lead but being a part of a group whole; framed by the space available.  I
experienced that first hand on a Saturday night in Buenos Aires at Salon
Canning, THE place to be at the time - four lanes of over 300 dancers moving
together as a whole with no bumping among couples.

If you are an experienced dancer and would like to practice those skills,
consider taking my tango class(es) this Monday night.  Deb Wasson will be
assisting me teaching milonga in both my fundamentals class from 7-8 pm and my

Colorado College for a Milonga this Friday night August 21 from 5-9pm.   The
Cornerstone building is at the south east corner of Cache le Poudre and Cascade.

park in Manitou Springs.  This continues a tradition of our out door summer

introduce for the first time in history of the program, Argentine Tango.

will be dancing Argentine Tango, Monday March 30th"
At Derby Dance we will have the TV on and will interupt our Monday night 7:00 -
8:00pm tango 2 class if this segment comes early in the show.  (we will extend
class by ten minutes if we interupt for the tango segment)  In addition, we will
keep the TV on during practice from 8:00 - 9:00pm in case it comes late in the

For several years the Colorado Springs tango community performed a 25 minute
argentine tango historical show at Spring Spree on the Acacia Park stage in
downtown Colorado Springs. This year, Spring Spree is in Memorial Park and once
again we have been invited to participate.  It has been more than five years
since we did perform. As their letter states, "All performers are on a volunteer
basis...and offer a unique platform for groups to showcase their cultural
talents as well as promote their organization or club..." This year Spring Spree
is on June 20 and 21.

I am offering a new eight week, progressed series of Argentine "Tango 1" lessons
on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00pm in March and April (skipping March 25).  Topics
covered: the walking dance, cross, parellel and cross feet, ochos, grapevine
turn and more.  Milonga and Vals will be introduced.  Both salon style and close
embrace will be covered.  Cost $115 per person or $205 per couple for new
