DJ Classes Make Better Local Communities

We go well out of our way to be sure you get the best music possible. The music we dance to in tango is everything - but of course it would not be "Argentine Tango" if it weren't for the Argentine Tango music that we dance to. DJs are an intricate part of making the pista de milonga come alive. By organizing the appropriate selections for the state of the dancers for any given tanda the DJ sets the mood, the state of energy in the room and on the floor. A tango enthusiasts growth depends on the proper immersion of music, steps and connection. Good DJs can make or break any tango community.

Time and culture have shown that having solid gold tango played in the proper format makes for better dancers. It also helps build better tango communities. Time has proven that those that get too far out of the musical box in tango, have a hard time keeping tango dance and traditions alive in their home communities. We take Deejaying very seriously!

This is the main reasons we offer DJ classes at our festival. This year Tine Herreman is joining forces with Homer Ladas in heading up the class. Tine deejays at big and small milongas in New York and the Northeast, and occasionally beyond. Festivals included the Portland Tango Fest, NY Tango Festival, Tango de los Muertos, the Atlanta Tango Fest, the Yale Tango Fest, and others. She has played all-night events in Montreal, San Francisco and Europe. She hosts and often DJs Tango Lounge (Friday), Tango Loft (4th Saturday) and Tango Fix (Mondays) in New York. Tine is pronounced like "Tina".
