Your Man Friday, published by Ames back in the day. They were mailed
out monthly to typewriter repair shops. They promoted Ames' offerings
for tools and supplies. They also had repair tips & such for
technicians. I can remember eagerly waiting for each issue to arrive.
Especially becasuse of the small section in the back that advertised
antique typewriters for sale. I have a copy from 1980. It's the only
one I saved. I guess because it was one of the first purchases I was
actually able to make from one of the ads. An aluminum Blickensderfer
6. I wrote the seller (no telephone number in the ad) and waited for
what seemed like an eternity for a reply. Finally, a letter and contact
info. A deal was made and I quickly drove the 100+ miles into
Pennsylvania to pick it up an pay for it. My first Blick! It seems
like yesterday. Thanks for refreshing my sun fried brain cells.
