Hello Tony,
Thank you for such a great website. It is the same, I've attached a few pics.
Do you think it compares well?
Thanks!
Jeff

Subject: [TYPEWRITERS] Re: auction vs. eBay?
To the best of my knowledge there has never been a private auction for a Sholes
& Glidden on Ebay, therefore it may be a good time to sell one here. For the
Imperial Visible, if it's the one manufactured by the Visible Typewriter
Company, earlier this year one sold for $8,000. + on Ebay. One in comparable
condition sold in the Breker auction (also earlier the year) for a hammer price
of 3000 Euros ($4200). So, in this case, Ebay was clearly a better venue for the
seller.

that I'm selling. I've committed to donating at least $10,000 to my school, and
because of the commitment I made, I'm looking to maximize the amount we can
realize. If you're interested in the long story, I'm glad to elaborate, but for
now I'm wondering what is the better path - Breker's (or another auction house),
or eBay? I will be selling some gems:

decades, and overall are in really decent shape. I've been quite afraid to kick
the tires, simply because I don't want to damage anything. That brings about
another question - should I stick some paper in there and try to type on these?
