Re: [TYPEWRITERS] LC Smith-Corona Silent Secretarial (SN location help)

Not sure if I can be of any help but I do have a green enclosed Secretarial L.
C. Smith office typewriter from 1930. The serial number on this particular
machine can be found on the top of the machine behind the carriage on the right
side of center on the very back edge.

Subject: [TYPEWRITERS] LC Smith-Corona Silent Secretarial (SN location help)

As the subject says... a couple of months ago I picked up this clean,
perfectly functioning LC Smith-Corona Silent Secretarial from the 1940's (I know
this much) at an estate sale for $7, but I cannot find the SN.

An interesting note, I think anyway, it came with one of those learning to
type on a typewriter books (Title: 20th Century Typing 5th Edition) in typing
class from a local high school in town.

So any help with the the location of the SN is appreciated... if a picture
would help, I can supply one. Thanks!

Thanks Dax, mine is enclosed as well, though it is that grayish wrinkle finish with metal circle keys, and the SN is not there either. I have looked at Jay's...

FWIW, I have a 1939 Super-Speed with the serial number on a non-riveted plate in the exact location you describe. It's way toward the back. It was well-hidden...
