This is a different kind of infertility support group. This is a place for women and men of all ages who have not been able to have children when they desired them, and feel that they need something besides a medical approach to their concerns.

It can be a lonely experience to want a child deeply and to feel uncomfortable with addressing this longing with powerful drugs, invasive tests, surgery, and a highly technological agenda. You may be trying to become pregnant for the first time, or to be experiencing "secondary" infertility, in which you have birthed one or more children but have been unable to become pregnant again. You may have an experience of repeated pregnancy loss, or a disabling condition that makes many medical treatments problematic. Whoever you are, if you have questions or concerns about the "assisted reproductive technologies" that abound answering your needs, and you want to talk to sympathetic and empathetic friends to share experiences and information, you are welcome here.

This group began because two women who met on another discussion were grappling with fertility issues and a preference for taking care of ourselves and our families "naturally" and felt that "we can't be the only people who have ever felt this way." The elder founder of this group became a mother at age 38, after 17 years of trying to have a baby, without medical assistance. The younger of us conceived a first child easily, and found it difficult to become pregnant again, and has experienced multiple pregnancy losses. It was hard to find women trying to conceive who understood her lack of enthusiasm for hormones, surgeries, and medical intervention. Thus, "TTC, Naturally."
