Description
This is a discussion list for Kenwood TS-850, TS-450 and TS-690 users, to discuss tips and tricks, radio survival, mods (EXCEPT out of band, plenty of other sources for this subject please), and getting the most from this really cool rig. keywords: Kenwood, Amateur Radio, TS-850, TS-450, TS-690, Ham Radio
RULES OF THE ROAD: All the usual rules for an all-ages group apply. No spam, etc. Need I say more? Also, attachments (pics, files etc) are not allowed through the group to prevent trojan horses. Share files direct if necessary, or post to the "files" section of the group.
PHOTO NOTE: This is a blown surge absorber, used on the 850 antenna lead, on the small circuit board, rear center of rig under the filter unit cover that is held on with 7 small sheet metal screws. Check yours today. This one got so hot it melted the glass envelope, which is supposed to be cylidrical, and clear in color. Prevented massive damage to the rig however. DE K0ZL
