Theodore Roosevelt Association
The
Capital Area Chapter of the Theodore Roosevelt Association is an organizaton of TR enthusiasts local to the Washington, DC Metro Area inclusive of Baltimore, MD, Norfolk, VA (the home of CVN-71, the USS Theodore Roosevelt) and Charlottesville, VA (the location of Pine
Knot, the rustic presidential retreat used by TR, family and friends) who would like to be kept informed of and participate in events and activities in the region. The
TRA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy and ideals of Theodore Roosevelt, our 26th US President.
The Chapter's annual dinner meeting is held in March
* with more frequent, informal meetings and activities throughout the year. Activities include community service in the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt's ideals, hikes and conservation work in support of Theodore Roosevelt Island, and awarding the "Theodore Roosevelt Police Medal" in recognition of area policemen who continue to serve their communities after overcoming great adversity. Membership to this Yahoo! groups page is open.
However, full Chapter Membership is dependent on standing membership in the Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) and additional annual dues paid to the
Capital Area Chapter of the TRA.
