David,? Just got back from South America.? Great work on scheduling the F3F
race, and I look forward to the race as well.? Maybe we can set up a?practice or
two,?and get some more more of those Gulls flatlanders into the action, that is
of course if they feel up to the task.

Talk to you soon.........Adam Smith

I have gotten official permission to run a 2-day F3F event at Torrey Pines
Gliderport on March 29th and 30th 2008. I wanted to let all of those
interested know right away, but more announcements are to follow shortly.
This should be one of the most organized F3F events in US history, with
Sponsors, catering, and awards. So save the dates, and start to look for
good airline/hotel rates.

An official event website will be developed shortly.

Thank You,

David Klein

As one of the "flatlanders" mentioned previously, I would be interested in at
least trying my hand at F3F (if only doing so with a Sapphire during a practice
run). Do they have a speed record for Thermal planes?

All

The remainder of my flying season this year is going to be restricted
to simulators while I recuperate from a recent health issue. For the
next couple of months I will be building new toys for the 2008
competition season. To help defray the cost I am going to be selling
the following items. First choice goes to TPG members. If you see
anything your interested in please give me a call and we can make an
appointment to have you come on over for a look. (I live in South
Escondido just off the 163). For health reasons, I will not be able to
get to the field to demo or to the post office to ship. If you are
seriously interested this will be a "stop by and look" deal.
I can be reached at (760) 746-4949, or (760) 420-7550 (cell) from 9:00
AM to 9:00 PM daily.

SHARON PRO 3.7M
Yellow over Red with red on both tips so you can tell it apart from
the others. This glider is RTF less RX. Servos are JR 168s on Ailerons
and JR 368s for Flaps, Rudder and Elevator. Battery is a 2400 NiMed.
This one is Primo, NO WARPS. I have always kept it in the bag when not
in use, (Bag not included). The wing tips have minor scuffing on the
bottom from landing at the Poway Field. It has never been crashed, NO
cracks or damage. This plane has a custom removable GRP nose skeg and
nylon V-skeg under the flaps. This is a nice toy for anyone looking
to move up the food chain into one of the best competition ready
aircraft. If you fly a Stylus I can transfer my program to your radio.
$1250.00 Firm

Artemis LT V-Tail
Yellow over Blue. This glider is less RX and Battery. (The RX is going
into something else and the battery needs to be replaced) Servos are
JR 351s on flaps and JR 341s on everything else. This plane has a
custom removable GRP nose skeg and nylon single post skeg under the
flaps. The wing tips have minor scuffing on the bottoms from landing
on the Poway Field. The wing saddle has minor cracks, (repaired), from
downwind landings at the SWC a few years back The tips on one of the
V-tails has some very minor cosmetic damage from an argument with a
toolbox in the back of my truck. This plane launches like a raped ape
and is competition ready for anyone wanting to step up from a bagged
plane. If you fly a Stylus I can transfer my program to your radio.
Asking $550.00

Mantis MH-32 V-Tail
White over Black 3 piece bagged wings with multi color accents on the
wings and stab. This aircraft is less battery, (battery needs to be
replaced). RX is an FMA 8 channel. Servos are all Hitec. This thing is
an East Coast design, (54 oz), and can be a little squirrelly to
launch due to boom flex. It is absolutely a light air floater and a
landing machine. (Can you say 45 degree down angle at less than
walking speed with flaps deployed ?). For those of you who want to
tinker this is the toy at a reasonable price.
If you fly a Stylus I can transfer my program to your radio
Asking $300.00

EASY GLIDER ELECTRIC
White with Red Tips. Motor is an Astro 020 Brushless w/gearbox. Cam
11-8 prop w/spinner. RX is an FMA 8 channel. Servos are 2 Hitec HS-81
in fus and 2 HS-55 on Ailerons. The area in the fus under the wing is
hollowed out for a TP-2100 three cell pack, (not included), and it
balances perfectly without nose weight. Scuff guard has been placed on
the bottom of the fus for abrasion protection. I have flown this thing
maybe 6 times. It's a fly anywhere machine, just not my thing.
The motor and radio components alone are worth more than the asking price.
If you fly a Stylus I can transfer my program to your radio
Asking $175 complete or $150 less RX.

FILIP-V 400
This is a Rudder Elevator V-tail ship. 60 inch wingspan with
Transparent Blue covering and a white glass fus. Set up for LMR speed
400 competition, this ship includes a tweaked "stock" 6V speed 400
motor with an integral 4-1 gearbox, and a CAM 12-10 folding prop with
spinner. It has two HS 55 servos and an FMA 8 channel RX. The fus is
set up to accept a 7 cell 500Mah Nicad pack, (not included). All up
weight with the above gear is 21 oz.
Asking $150 complete or $125 less RX

ENCORE DLG 6 -channel, A.F.E.R with Gyro. RX is a JR 610, Servos are
Dymond 60"s ? This is not the newest version. It is about 4 years
old. Set up for Right handed throw. The left wing tip folded and was
re-bagged with carbon strips. Looks a little rough but is structurally
sound.. Weight in the 12 oz range. This would make a good backup or
practice ship. Replace the battery and crystal and fly. If you fly a
Stylus I can transfer my program to your radio
Asking $200.00

GLADIATOR type DLG 4 channel with Gyro. All molded balsa and glass
flying surfaces. Glass pod with slip on nose cone and carbon tube
boom. RG-15 airfoil. Pull-pull cables on the rudder and stab. Set up
for right hand throw. RX is a JR 610, Servos are Dymond 60"s ?
Weight in the 13 oz range.
This is a great windy weather ship for those breezy afternoons at
Poway. Replace the battery and crystal and fly. If you fly a Stylus I
can transfer my program to your radio
Asking $200.00

ELECTRO STREAK
This one was scratch built from plans using select contest grade
balsa. Super light weight and clean build. Covered in Clear and Hot
Red Money Cote. As built, it was set up for a standard Astro cobalt 05
brushed motor and a 7 cell Nicad pack that have since been lost. I
will throw in a Astro FAI 05 brushed motor that will bolt right up.
You add a Lipo pack with the right C rating and this thing will
scream. (Needs ESC, spinner and prop)
There is a pre-91 Futaba RX and Futaba 131 servos installed.
Asking $150

LEVOE DESIGN VARMIT S-400 PYLON RACER NIB
This is a pylon racer from a few years ago. Fiberglass fus, balsa
sheet tail, spyder foam cores that you bag. Build plans incuded.
Asking $25

Thank you for looking

Garth, I willl take the easy glider. It is the Rud. Ail. Elev. version
right?

Also, I think you could have asked at least $1,500 for the Sharon. I am
actually tempted to say I want the Sharon too, but I must hold off.

Hope you feel better soon.

Mike

My Blaster nose heavy so I added 1/4 ox to the tail. Rather than carry that
around, I figured
out I should replace the 2oz battery pack with one that weighs 1.3oz.

So, where can I order a square Rx pack by weight? The Blaster has a skinny nose,
so the pack
needs to be fractional AAA cells in square formation and weigh about 1.3 oz

Thanks, John

The final contest of the year for SC2 was held at the TPG Poway Flight
Center Sunday, Nov.18. Forty nine pilots attended the event. Five
different classes, Expert, Intermediate, Sportsman, RES and 2 Meter
were flown. TPG did very well with Mike Smith winning first place in
Expert class with a score of 3965.6 out of 4000 possible points. Steve
Condon was third in Expert. All scores will be published in the
newsletter and on Yahoo.

The president of SC2, Lex Mierop, asked if TPG would be willing to
host two contests next year as other clubs are losing there fields and
some contests will have to be canceled if alternate fields are not
found. The consensus was yes we could but we would discuss with our
membership.

All TPG members who attended did an outstanding job helping with the
contest and no complaints were registered.

Drew, I am curious if you have had a chance to do the scores from
Saturdays contest. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss them. I
know you have a new child at home, so please don't feel like I am
bugging you for them.

Thanks for the great contest. I am practicing away,
David
