This group will be used to facilitate discussion AND ACTION implementing various green building initiatives in Takoma Park, MD and Takoma, DC. Some efforts will be on a city scale, with others on a smaller or larger scale as appropriate, but please keep messages connected to Takoma Park somehow.

While recognizing that true green building is a holistic process integrating far ranging issues of traffic, crime, and economic and social concerns, we'd like to keep most messages closely related to how green buildings (through homes, apts, residential, commercial, gov't, and even local policy) can be improved in the city with green technology or programs and local resources.

There's a lot of good information about green building already out there, so a second priority of this list is less about discussion, and more about moving to LOCAL ACTION. Use this list to connect with others interested in your projects or with projects you want to be part of. We hope many discussions quickly go off list and become more real and less virtual.

Some examples of good topics:
- a green building initiative that you'd like to explore or pursue and you want feedback or to connect with others to help implement.
- another city/gov't is doing something you think Takoma Park should consider. is it appropriate for us? how can we replicate or translate the idea for use locally?
- asking for and responding to requests for local green building resources (materials, contractors, vendors, consultants, grant programs) -- [this last item might eventually be moved off list and compiled into a DC area green building resource website]
