TORCHFred was started to help support the efforts of Catholic parents as primary educators and teach their children at home. Faithful to the Catholic Magisterium, we promote homeschooling as an educational opportunity. We strive to support each other in our ongoing spiritual formation, deepening of our relationship with Jesus Christ, and increasing knowledge of the Catholic faith.

TORCHFred is local chapter of TORCH (Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes), a national homeschool association that supports the needs of families in their journey in education for eternity. TORCH hopes that, through a vibrant and visible witness of a community of homeschooling families, we can bring Christ to the world. TORCH currently consists of 43 chapters in 17 states.

Our local chapter meets monthly from August through May. Our meeting location is St Peter the Apostle Church in Libertyown, Maryland. Enrollment is open to homeschooling families in and around Frederick County and Carroll County, Maryland.

As a support group, we make possible various activities, gatherings, fieldtrips, clubs, plays, etc. We strive to be more than a source of information.
