RE: (job) find a job in (rural) China by just showing up ?

Hello!

If you prefer to teach in rural China, I have got a great opportunity for you.

I have worked in a Tibetan village in Qinghai Province(Greater Tibetan where
foreigners are allowed). It is a volunteer job and you get pick up,
accommodation, food but no salary.

It is a primary and secondary school.I worked there for a month in winter
holiday.

Lerjiater speaks English and Chinese and Tibetan language. Dorji is the
headmaster and speaks Chinese and Tibetan. Contact the E-mail first.

The villagers are very friendly and you will surely have a good experience
there. The accommodation and food are very basic and it was very cold when I was
there.

Please let me know what you find out on this subject. Teaching in the
countryside has been a matter of interest to me for a while. I have always
taught in the cities so can't help you there. However, I do remember a TV
documentary sometime back about a retired American woman in her 80s who adopted
and was adopted by a small Chinese village for her English teaching. She was
provided with a home and living expenses, as I remember. Sorry, I don't know how
she got this position or more detail.

How big are my chances to find a job in (rural) China, if I just show up there ?
I am a non-native English speaker, with a TEFL certificate but don't have a
bachelor's degree.
