T800 Series 2 does not use the same program lead as the T2000. It is a special
single line programmer, a ping-pong circuit IC to convert to the 2-line RS232
comport.

For 2.06 Firmware you can get away with V2.90 Software if that makes it easier
to find.

That firmware needs Software to be PGM V2.77 or better, or the Windows version
2.xx or above although some below this will work.

Series 1 had mostly the same pins for everything except Pin 7 on the RX or TX.
Series 2 Pin 7 swapped from Audio 2 to be the Prog line in standard form, but
could be Audio 2 if needed to retrofit to Series 1 rack. That is for the
standard lower D-range connector at least.

The circuit that fed the Selcall tones is the place to go. It leaves the Logic
PCB at Pin 8 of S1 connector. That is DC coupled to the modulator cct on the
TCXO reference module, might not be real goo POCSAG, but try it.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by " mostly the same pins for everything
except Pin 7 "
The backplane has a DB25 socket along with several sets of jumpers which appear
to connect the various modules together, if i could find out what functions are
available at the DB25 socket it would make attaching a external controller much
easier.

Cheers,

Good answer, like how ?. I have an interface that connects to my
serial port and by using different leads it will allow o programme
various sets, such as PRM80,s 8030,s and T2000,s
It has a DB25 socket output and the leads plug into this, so I
would imagine that just a db25 to RJ11 lead would do

Steve,

If you want to build a cable for the T800 Series II, look here:

The only source I know of if you do not want to build your own is direct
from Tait.

Please note other's responses that the T800-II does not use the same
interface methodology as the 2000 and other Tait products.

The T800-II uses a single wire for both transmit and receive serial
data. This is the "pin 7" on each module's DB15 mentioned in an earlier
post.

On series I modules pin 7 is an audio pin normally jumpered to pin 6. By
splitting this connection, the 600 ohm input/output sections can be
bypassed.

Steve,

I'll try and dig out the original drawings tomorrow for the UPA module
that you have. The serial RS232 data output can be provided as two
separate lines or alternatively a single tx/rx serial wire.

Yes, the series I use a 27C64 EPROM in each module.

I am not familiar with Duncan's interface, but he may be able to make it
work for you.

Hi
yes Duncans interface will I beleive do single line so maybe
just a lead with rj11 pins 1 and 4 ground and pin 2 serial data
in, will have to see. I have so many different interfaces leads etc
so fingers crossed. Here in the UK a lot of the 6mtr rptrs use
old Tait T300,s xtalled up for 50Mhz

If you know of anyone that is using one of the T820s (66-88 MHz) on 6
meters, I would love to talk with them regarding what was required to
get it there.

Sorry I was referring to the 15-pin connector on the back of the RX-TX units
themselves. I'll look out some connection diagrams as soon as I can get a
round-tuit.

Hi
I am looking for the "MBB-00001-xx TB7100 Installation and Operation Manual" for
the TB7100. I am after some information on the jumpers settings for the
interface card.

Could anyone point me in the right direction.
Regards
Phil
