Hi! Do you like to crochet, knit, or sew? Do you want to help kids in foster care?

My name is Victoria, and I would love to be in a world where there is no need for the foster care system. However, there are kids everyday, who are in situations that are not good for them, and they are placed in foster care. Some are temporary, and some are permanently taken out of their home. Each has a story, and each is important.

We will be making blankets for these special children, that they will receive when they are taken to DHR. Many enter with just the clothes on their back, so these blankets are truly special. They remind the kids that someone cares, and that they are loved. Hopefully, these blankets will help them have sweet dreams...

If you would like to help, we will be making blankets either crochet, knit, or sewn, but always handmade. Making an entire blanket is a huge task, so if you would rather, we have volunteers who will make blankets out of 100% cotton material squares, as well as crochet or knitted acrylic worsted weight squares. When you join the group, I will send you out a guidelines sheet, so you'll know what we can use the most of.

Pictured is a group of several shades of purple squares, that could use a few more. I'm going to round these in a soft white, and so just think purple. I'd like to end up with 13, so that I can make it a pillowghan for a little girl.
