This gently moderated group will discuss aspect of coaxing natural dyes from plants, mushrooms, lichens, and insects. We will also discuss the various mordants and modifiers available to set or alter the dye color. This group will also be open to the discussion of surface design techniques associated with natural dyeing.

Sustainability, slow dyeing, and process intensive or "soft-touch" cloth will also be themes discussed on this list. In the spirit of sustainability, we will share cultivating (planting, growing, harvesting, and collecting) of natural dye plants and materials.
