Description

Welcome to the official Summits on the Air discussion group.

Summits on the Air is a programme that encourages radio amateurs who enjoy hill walking and the great outdoors to take their radios with them and operate from the mountain tops. An award scheme recognises those who activate the summits, those that make QSOs with the activators and Short Wave Listeners. The programme can be operated anywhere in the world.

This group is for discussions specifically about the SOTA programme. Postings to this group that are not directly SOTA related or are offensive will be deleted and, in extreme cases, the poster will be banned from the group. When posting to the group, please always include your name and callsign at the end of your post.

Here, in addition to the full reflector message archive, you will find lots of other information about SOTA including:

All the rules, reference manuals, etc. to enable you to participate fully in SOTA Various useful files, such as log sheets, etc. A database of participants, showing what their interests are, what mode and bands they operate and so on (please add your own data!).

In addition to this reflector, SOTA operates the following official Internet-based resources:

The SOTA web site, with full information on all the Associations, all documentation, links to other official resources and much more! The SOTA web site is at www.sota.org.uk.

The online database, which allows Activators and Chasers to keep track of their scores. Click here for the database. SWLs are invited to contact Tom, M1EYP for full information on participation in the SOTA programme.

SOTAwatch for activation alerts and real-time spotting.
