Events of Interest to the Sufi Community in the San Francisco Bay Area, throughout North America, and around the world.

This periodically updated list is intended to include events of interest to serious students of traditional Islamic "tasawwuf"or Sufism, primarily events in the San Francisco Bay Area, but also listing events throughout California, the Pacific Northwest, throughout North America, and around the world: regular open circles for zikr and sufi practise; open classes for study of Islam and Islamic traditions, especially those related to tasawwuf; cultural events related to the traditions of Sufism, Islam, and the Islamic world, including important Heigra dates and holidays, and Urs dates of various Sufi Awliyya; some important holidays and events of the major religious traditions, selected inter-faith events, and other events that the editor deems of interest or importance to the Sufi / Muslim community.

ALWAYS USE THE CONTACT INFORMATION IN THE LISTINGS TO CONFIRM TIME, DATE, AND LOCATION OF EVENTS.

CHECK THE CALENDAR SECTION FOR LISTINGS OF REGULAR ZIKRS.

The "Calendar" section lists regularly repeating gatherings for Zikrs, classes, and other regularly repeating events. The "Calendar" section does NOT hold all the event postings - one-time events are in the "Messages" section.

The "Messages" section lists all event announcements. You can search the postings by date in the form "day month year", eg: "12 July 2005", for all the events on any date. You can also search by the name of a presenter, teacher, or performer, or a key word in the title of an event. For multiple-day events, search for the date of the first day of the event, or the title of the event. Note: the general listings are in the order that the announcements were posted, not in date order. Sometimes I only receive notice of events after later date events have already been posted.
