The Stop the War Coalition is a group of activists based in Sydney but with networks around NSW, Australia and the world who are committed to seeing an end to the occupation of Iraq and, more generally, an end to the "War on Terror". We also support and end to the occupations of Palestine and Afghanistan and believe the US, Australia and its allies should quit meddling in the Middle East.
We represent a variety of community groups, political parties and solidarity organisations who organise autonomously but see the Coalition as an important space in which to consolidate our opposition to these costly domestic and foriegn policies.
The Coalition also supports the activities of numerous local community peace groups in building grass-roots opposition to the occupation of Iraq. We have organised joint actions with groups such as the Civil Rights Network, Sydney, Free Hicks and Habib campaign, and Sawiyan Palestinian Solidarity.
