Stephen Baxter (born in Liverpool, 13 November 1957) is a British hard science fiction author.
Stephen Baxter is famous for his Xeelee Sequence, which is a series of stories set in the Xeelee Universe and also the immensely popular and imaginative Manifold series.
The Mammoth trilogy, The Destiny's Children series, A Time Odyssey series, Time's Tapestry Series and The Web series are among his popular SF writings apart from his standalone novels such as Titan, Voyager, Moonseed and Evolution.
The novel Light of Other Days is co-written with Sir Arthur C. Clarke together with the series A Time Odyssey.
Stephen Baxter won the John W. Campbell award, Philip K. Dick Award and the BSFA Award for his novel The Time Ships. Baxter is also the winner of the British Science Fiction Award and the Locus Award, as well as being a nominee for an Arthur C. Clarke Award, most recently for Manifold: Time. His novel Voyage won the Sidewise Award for Best Alternate History Novel of the Year.
