This group is dedicated to the revival of steam traction for tourism in Kenya. In 2001, the owner of this group mobilized a team of retired East African and Kenya Railways technicians and craftsmen, who completely restored Mount Gelai, an ex-EAR Mountain 59 Class Beyer-Garratt. In November, he ran a 7-day promotional steam trip from Nairobi to Mombasa behind Mount Gelai, the "Maroon Giant". The steam loco is now stationed at Mombasa Railway Station awaiting the introduction of regular Mombasa-Voi-Mombasa steam excursions. Join this group for regular updates.
