Description

This group for the sharing of info and interest in the
line of ultralight aircraft designed by Dick Turner
called "Starflight" They were built from about 1980 until
the last one was sold in 2001 (The last one I know of). Both single
and two seat aircraft were sold. Searching for any info on this line
of aircraft has led down a strange path. I'm Roger Poyner in Pauls Valley, OK and I own a Starflight DBL that was built in 1985. It is
a two seat tandem trainer that was based on the Tri-star and TX 1000.
The aircraft were built at the Liberty Landing International Airport
in Missouri and were often called Quicksilver clones or quickalikes.
This comment could not be further from the truth. The Starflight
aircraft share very little in common with the quicks. After being
in touch with the designer Dick Turner we now know much more than we
did in Mar 09 when this site started. We are still seeking information and comments from people who own or have owned a Starflight. If you own or have any info on this line of planes please join and contribute any info you may have. Researching the history of Starflight has been a blast. Meeting new people across the country who also thought that they owned a plane that was thought to be one of the ultralight orphans has been an eye opener for us all. We now know about the various models and have included info on these in the files section. Check out the photos for flying examples and feel free to contact and share your own thoughts. Thanks Roger

Mostly size.  In this case I think size does matter.  His Dehaviland has a 24' span and single seat just isn't what I had in mind.  The only thing really
