Hey There,

I've attached the Stitches Market floor plan, but what's cool about this is in the lower right hand corner is a button to download the full brochure. It's large, but they've got the list of people for book signings, and I'm still trying to figure out how I get my hands on the list of door prizes. Also, there are vendors who have listed ads with prize drawing to win stuff...take a look it's worth the download. If at least for the hot-linked websites of all vendors.

Cheers,
Kris

Just a heads up to all! Blue Moon Fiber or AKA: Socks That Rock will be at Toni's booth. How fabulous it that!

I'm going to spread the word;)

Hi, Kris. I'm wondering if many people will know that STR & the other Blue Moon
yarns will be in The Fold's booth...we'll see. ;) That's how they started out
at Stitches years ago, you know, in **my** booth! I do have a pretty good
selection of STR colors, most in Lightweight and Mediumweight. If you'd like to
send me a list of those you'd be interested in, I'd be happy to pull them off
the display and leave them in a bag for you to look at when you arrive. Let me
know. There's also quite a good quantity of other yarns and lots of patterns
available, too. I'll be intrigued to see how the booth goes together. See you
this weekend.

Toni

Hi Toni,

Your probably going crazy gearing up for Stitches, but wanted to ask you a
quick question. I noticed Blue Moon Fibers wasn't on the list of vendors this
year, so I checked their website and I see they are actually being represented
by you. You can't believe how happy I am right now. I'm curious to know if
you'll have a big selection? I know several Socks that Rock lovers that will be
happy to hear this news.

Take care and see you at Stitches.
Kris

I just found out there's a baby shower next Tuesday for a friend in my
homeschooling group, and I'd really like to knit something for her.

Booties?

Baby Surprise Sweater?

I've never knit a real article of clothing, especially one as a gift.
Suggestions, please? Remembering, of course, that it took me two and
a half months to knit my son a pair of socks? <sheepish grin>

Thanks!

Booties. Definitely booties. They are the fastest knit ever. A pair
of booties takes about 4 hours of knitting time. Seriously easy, and
always impressive.

Whenever I give a pair of hand-knit booties, I stuff them with cotton
balls so they look "full" and pin them together with a diaper pin.

You can so do this. :)

Booties are fast, and I have a quick pattern suitable for a newborn.  You could also try a little cap.

I'd stick with booties. Anything else might take too long. You only
have a week!

Google free baby bootie patterns and you'll find plenty of options.

The other possibility would be a bib or baby washcloth. They're also
small projects. They might be easier than booties because they use
less shaping.

Good luck!

I think booties would be great...here are some links:

http://home.howstuffworks.com/free-baby-bootie-knitting-patterns2.htm

or this one has a free pattern download on sidebar:

http://www.saartjeknits.nl/

or this:

http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2291

Okay...Ravelry is just awesome....here is another:

http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/beths-booties.html

You could also knit a small baby hat:

http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babynewhat.htm

I made this one several times. I usually skip the eyelet holes, which is for a piece of decorative ribbon. Also, it's knit flat with a straight seem up the back..super quick.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, the two socks on circulars thing? Too much for my feeble brain
to handle.

I believe I need to split this into two different things: knitting
some toe-up socks so I can see how they're supposed to work, and THEN
trying two at a time on circulars.

You do NOT want to know what these were looking like after a few
rounds, or after I dropped stitches and re-cast one of them. However,
