Description

"O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth."
Psalm 96:1

Behold the glories of the Lamb
Amidst His Father’s throne.
Prepare new honors for His Name,
And songs before unknown.

Isaac Watts, circa 1688.

Welcome to Song to the Lamb. I post one hymn or metrical psalm each day, written by Isaac Watts, Charles Wesley, John Newton, William Cowper, and many other early hymn writers, to comfort and challenge you in your journey. My goal is to collect and share the original poetry, complete and unexpurgated. Please send in your contributions from 16th through 18th century hymnists.

To keep volume low, this is not intended to be a discussion group. Please feel free to respond to any message, and I will post any hymns or corrections you send in.

I have collected over 1500 hymns so far, and all may be found in the files section for easy reference. All songs on this website are in the public domain and may be copied and distributed without restriction.
