Solo performance can be quirky, unique, unusual, off-beat, and often--personal. These are spoken word or silent performances...they may include live or recorded music. They may or may not involve audience interaction.

Solo Performance & Monodrama is a unique performance whose best known practitioners include Whoopie Goldberg, Lily Tomlin, Eric Bogosian, Spaulding Grey, John Leguizamo, Anna Deavere Smith, Josh Kornbluth, Laurie Anderson, Andy Kaufman and many more. Some include Brother Theodore, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor in these categories.

This is NOT simply stand-up comedy, though it is often humorous. This is one of the oldest art forms... Storytelling.
And when it�s done with clarity, ingenuity and that special �gift� that true storytellers have, it TRANSPORTS people to another place.

THIS SITE IS NOT FOR THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF PERFORMERS:
Poets (unless it's a highly UNUSUAL interpretation)
Cabaret artists (unless it has a very unique twist)
Straightforward song writers.
Tragic storytellers with tales in which they are the only hero surrounded by villians.
