I just bought this boat third hand (my first Soling) and it had been set up with
the pushrod in the last hole in the rudder horn. I only had my MM to compare it
with and the agility seemed okay for a 10 lb. boat vs. a 2 pounder.
I was happy with it the way it was, not knowing any better, but then I saw one
of the guys banging his boat back and forth like a go-kart during the start
ballet. I thought 'mine won't do that even if I knew what I was doing' so I
asked the question. I moved it in one hole and got about 32° each way. Plenty of
room for more if I want it.

What recommendations for maximum rudder angle? Too much and you slow the boat down unless you are careful with the radio stick. Too little and you can't turn...
Give yourself plenty of throw (40 degrees is about what I have as a maximum), but only use what you need. I rarely throw the rudder over all the way. -Paul ...
Hi George I would start with about 30 degrees. The less you use the rudder the faster you'll sail. Be sure the rudder is exactly in line with the keel when out...
Get as much throw as you can, but only use what you need. I set mine up mechanically to give me about 80 degrees to each site if I need it, but then set up...

To be honest I haven't found a good use for the DX6i Sub-Trim function yet. Perhaps, if my very long and lightweight servo to rudder linkage were to become...
That's some good stuff, similar to mat'l I downloaded from an AMYA publication which deals with the DX6 in respect to using it with sailboats. I also consulted...
Think you have the right idea it's OK to have those functions available but I would rather have Max rudder available, for a quick maneuver when necessary and...
