SOLAR (The School for Outdoor Leadership, Adventure & Recreation) is a non-profit club with 400 members dedicated to the intelligent enjoyment of nature and outdoor pursuits. We offer interesting classes and fantastic trips for beginners and the most experienced wilderness enthusiasts. Every month, we offer several trips around Michigan, the Midwest, even the world. If you've ever wanted to try your hand at a new outdoor adventure, SOLAR is the place to start. We love camping, hiking, backpacking, caving, rock climbing, ice climbing, kayaking, white water rafting, canoeing, mountaineering, biking, archaeology digs, primitive skills, search and rescue, wilderness survival, orienteering.... everything outdoors.
