The Society of the American Aristocrats (SAA) was established in the 1970s by Dana Scroggins (Sippel) of WI to serve the fans of realistic model (fantasy) Thoroughbred horse racing. A bi-monthly newsletter, American Aristocrat (AA), was published, as was an annual racing calendar and detailed rule book. The SAA also held several auctions each year, named annual champions, and had registries for horses, horsemen, and racing silks. Life changes led to management changes at SAA, and finally its folding.
After much thought, I have decided to revive the Society of the American Aristocrats as a strictly on-line group for all fans of realistic fantasy Thoroughbred horse racing. I worked closely with Dana on the original Society of the American Aristocrats and the associated newsletter, American Aristocrat, writing feature articles, drafting the rule book, and compiling and publishing the annual calendar. I've been involved with model Thoroughbred horse racing since 1973, and have worked in the real Thoroughbred racing world since 2000.
This group is for fans of realistic model (fantasy) Thoroughbred horse racing. We believe in realistic pedigrees, realistic racing, and realistic managment of our racing and breeding stock. We draw our inspiration from the world of real Thoroughbred horse racing, but try to improve upon the real thing by eliminating the need for a large bankroll.
If you love the majestic world of Thoroughbred horse racing and would like to chat with others who share your interest, this might be the group for you!
Please be aware that "flaming" will not be tolerated on this list. Yes, we will have differences of opinion from time to time, but common courtesy and tact is required for this group. My goal for this group is to have lively and informed discussions, enabling us to share our enthusiasm, opinions, insights, and knowledge.
