During the meeting Sunday we discussed the possibility of a large club project
to launch at NYPOWER this year. Neal Bade still
has a LOC ESOTERIC we could use. We need to know who would be itnerested in
this.
Please send me an email if you are interested. Several things are up for
discussion/decision such as:
Where would we work on the project?
What motors would you like to see it fly on? Cluster, air starts, etc?
What electronics would we use?
After we find out the interest level, we will discuss this at the next meeting
(January)

The Skybusters launch is canceled for this weekend. There is just enough mud
and just enough wind to make it miserable. We'll try again in two weeks. Also,
we are going to attempt our 2nd annual New Year's Day Launch on January 1st.
Dan

Hello,
I am with a Cub Scout pack in Parma, OH. Next summer, we were
thinking about having an outing where our scouts could launch
model rockets that they would build at their den meetings. I was
hoping someone in your club would be able to recommend a nearby
location that would be suitable for us to launch the rockets.
We haven't looked into kits yet, but these will likely be small
model rockets using "A" or "B" Estes motors at the most. We would
probably be doing this on a Saturday or Sunday in July and we would
welcome any suggestions on where we could take the boys to do this.
It appears that the metro parks do not allow rockets so we are unsure
of where we could go. We have approximately 50 boys in the pack.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

If we launch this weekend it will be on Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The
limiting factor will be the condition of the field. If we do launch, expect
lots of mud. The final decision on the launch will be made of Friday. The
website and this yahoo group will have the latest info.

I've the parts for my next rocket sitting here with me in the Ohio Outback on
a job (ook ook, me macho knuckle-dragger hardhat). Likely this beastie will be
the first of my rockets to go supersonic, so a bit of re-enforcement to the
airframe would be a good thing. Any suggestions, advice, assists, where to get
stuff, etc. would greatly be appreciated. I should be back in a few weeks from
this employment session.
Oh, and Pat, if that rocket stuff I was interested is still available, I'll
try to get in contact this Sunday when I have a day off.

How is the club doing, I see that you have a pretty large membership now, that is great....Is Dave (I cant remember last name or his wife's name) the one that moved to Tucson, AZ and had a shop making parachutes for the rockets? If you have his phone # or email address could you please send it to me and I will try and get over to see him sometime..Well I had better get out of here and get something done, like watching the cacti grow
(we have plenty of them in our yard)...Tell everyone that we said hey and good luck in there rocketry projects..

I found the motors at the Micheal's in Parma, near Parma Town Mall. I
believe the one in Chagrin has them also. I guess they might be phasing
out rocketry stuff as the store in Akron isn't carrynig anything anymore.
Chuck
P.S. The flying yesterday with the grandson was fun. Until the flying
season officially begins, and someone wants to play with little stuff,
the park across from the grandson's place in Parma is ideal (Hetzel
Park, off of State Road). Anything Estes ought to be fine, even flew my
LOC Lil' Nuke handily on a D. Gimme a holler and I'll bring the launch
equiptment.
There will be a Skybusters meeting Sunday September 13th at 1:00 pm at the
Strongsville Public Library. We will be taking nominations for Officers for
2010 and will be discussing plans for the fall-winter-spring flying season.

And the Michael's ad in this Sunday's newspaper has a 50% off coupon good for
Sunday and Monday only.
Chuck, which Michaels's do you shop at? In recent months, I have only seen
rocket kits and motors at Michaels' in Aurora and Avon.

I don't know if any knew that Micheal's is handing out 40% off coupons
on a singular item on your next purchase. Needless to say I used it to
buy a launch pack of motors (taking the grandson flying tomorrow,
so....). The price, after discount, was $35.55 for the 24 motors. And I
got handed another 40% off coupon. that's good for the next 2 weeks.
Just figured I'd pass that along.
