Two more recs, both posted at the SWG Archive.
"Judgement" by Independence1776 (URL is
http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=576 ). A
short AU in which Maglor breaks away from Maedhros at the end and turns himself
in to Eonwe. It's beautifully written, and shows that even the 'happiest'
ending the sons of Feanor could expect isn't perfect.
"The Journey Back" by Erin's Daughter (URL is
http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=608 ).
Rated ADULT for graphic violence. A realistic look at the rescue of Maedhros
from Thangorodrim (and featuring a non-wimpy Maglor!). This fic was published a
few years ago in the author's LJ, but deserves a wider readership.
Happy reading!

Subject: [SilmarillionWritersGuild] Recommend a Story!
Hi, all,
We've decided to try something new on the SWG list. We're periodically going to
ask for story recommendations from list members. We have a lot of new members,
and the archive is busier than it's ever been. It's easy for great stories to
get lost or overlooked, so we're hoping that this will give our list members a
chance to share with each other their favorites and find new stories to enjoy.
So it's pretty simple: Recommend to me (and the rest of the list!) a story that
you've read in the past few weeks that you really loved and think others will
enjoy as well. The story doesn't have to be on the SWG, though it's generally
useful if it's publicly accessible. ;) Post a link to the story and perhaps a
few words of summary and, of course, you're more than welcome to say what you
love about the story too!
The only thing I ask is that, if the story is adult-rated, please indicate this
in your post. This is a requirement of the Yahoo! Groups terms of service to
keep our group accessible to members under the age of 18.
Also, if you keep up with the SWG newsletter, you might have seen that this
month Angelica and I are seeking recommendations for non-fiction essays that we
might include in our Reference section. You're welcome to recommend your
favorites on the list, of course, for others to enjoy, or send a list of your
favorite non-fiction to us at loremaster AT silmarillionwritersguild DOT org.
All the best,
Dawn
