The Sierra Nevada is an endlessly fascinating area, containing alpine landscapes, stark deserts, the largest trees, huge wildernesses, three National Parks (Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia NPs), glacier-sculpted valleys and peaks, clear rushing rivers, a rich biota, volcanoes, canyons, and some of the tallest peaks in the U.S. And, there are thousands of miles of trails and rivers to see it all!!!

Discuss issues related to geology, zoology, botany, history, hiking, backpacking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or anything else related to nature or outdoor activities. Covering California's Sierra Nevada, Owens Valley, Mono Lake, White Mountains, and environs.
