In recent years, a surprising number of adoptive families have learned that their child, adopted from China, has a biological sibling who has also been adopted. These newly discovered siblings may or may not have been adopted from the same SWI. Hence, the purpose of this Sichuan-wide group is to allow interested families to post photos of their children—adopted right across the Province—in the hope that another family might see a resemblance to their own child, and pursue additional information.

This also is a place to discuss the various issues that may arise as a result of finding a sibling child. While the discovery of a biological relative is both exciting and of profound significance for our children, there are also potential pitfalls and ramifications to be considered. Thus, in addition to providing a safe venue for posting photos and adoption info of our children, this group is also intended to be a safe and secure place to discuss issues surrounding sibling searches.
