   Greetings folks....

There is a procedure in place for requesting missing designs....

go to the Hands of Love website

   http://www.designsbysick.com/

And click on "forums"..sign up..and then request the designs under
   the section entitled

   Designs and Machine Embroidery
   sub category: Daily PES Trading

There, you can find the list of designs that have been given out as
freebies and request up to two missed designs per day

This is a wonderfully efficient (and generous) system that the owners
have set up for the members here....and it is all free.

   Thanks,

   Rob

Good morning,
I was wondering why so many people are voting for the sight seeing
designs. This set was completed a while back. If you are missing any
of the designs you can always ask for the in the Forum.
These are really wasted votes since they have already been given to us.
Just thought I would let you all know.

It certainly is NOT dumb. How can you learn if you don't ask?

After you are registered, you can begin a new "thread" (what a topic and the
responses it gets is called) by clicking on the button at the top that says
"new topic". Then, it is just like writing an email. You can respond to
someone else's thread by opening the thread and clicking on the button for
"post reply" (which will post your reply on the public board) or by clicking
on the button under the message that says "pm" (which will send a private
message to the person who wrote the message).

Patterns can not be traded directly on the forum because it would take too
much bandwidth. Therefore, what we do is give our email address to the
person who offers the pattern we want and they send it as an attachment to a
regular email. Shawn has asked that we don't request more than two patterns
per day, and since he is the one who allows us to even have them in the
first place, I certainly don't think it is too much to ask to follow that
rule.  =D

Since you are new to forums, I'll mention right now that you should NEVER
post your email address on the public forum, because spammers will harvest
any email addresses they can find and fill up your mail box with junk. =]
That is what the private messages are best for. I have filled in my email
address on my profile, so people who want to request patterns from me can
just click on the email link under my messages and ask. I can then just
reply to their email with the patterns. I have most all of the patterns, so
feel free to ask me.

Anyone looking for designs need to go to the web site and then the forum.
You can ask for two designs a day as per Shawn. Good luck. It really
works.

Hello everyone,

I recently had a hard drive crash, so lost a lot of data, and unfortunately, all
my bookmarks.

I had surfed around a few months back and found a new site that sold dog
designs, and this one had quite a few designs of Portuguese Water Dog (PWD) in
standing positions and in particular, in the Retriever Clip. I bookmarked it to
purchase later.

I know that it wasn't any of the most common sites that sell dog designs
(Embird, Embroidery Library, Embroidery.com, etc) as it was a company I hadn't
purchased from before, however I've done searches through several search engines
and can't seem to find the site again.

If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeanette

A friend of mine and I came up with a neat idea for an easy game for
us to play for the Fourth of July Celebration. It's called "From
Sea To Shining Sea". Everyone that participates will receive a FSL
Free Standing Angel design from her website and complete
instructions.

We thought it would be neat to find out what state had the most
Embroiderers and if we could find someone in each state. (But we
aren't leaving anybody out; please play the game even if you live
outside of the USA!

To Play: Send an email to txglassartz@...
Put your State or Country in the subject line. That's all you have
to do!. Entries must be in by midnight July 5th.

This is not for advertising, but just for fun to celebrate
Independence Day. When all the entries are in, we'll count the
states and the people living in the state with the most resonses
will receive a second surprise design. Everybody WILL get the
Angel!

This has been a bunch of fun so far! Texas led most of the day
yesterday, but Alabama has made a strong pull so far this
afternoon. Everybody must have gotten up early! Mari is still
pulling for Illinois, and Mudd is taking delight in the Texas
showing! Holland, however, is making a real showing and Australia
and Canada are also big in the running.

However, as with all things on the net, we have hit a little snag.
Mudd is sending out the Angels just as fast as she can. She has
about 500 now to send out. But she has discovered that a few have
gotten lost in Cyberspace. Holland designs with the "hetnet" server
are being returned. And if you blocked your email address, there is
no way to send you a design (only one of those). If you sent your
request yesterday before 12 am CST and have not received it, please
email: txglassartz@... again. They will be resent. If
you have a secondary email that will accept attachments. Please use
that, and mark your in your subject line: second request, along with
your state's name.

It may take some time but we will figure out a way to get it to
you. We will post final results of this game to the group on
Thursday after we are done tallying!

Until Then!

Hi Tracy.....was just reading how you do not hoop your embroidering. When
you say just use some sticky ON the hoop what kind of sticky are you using? I
don't think I am quite getting it. If you put it on the top of the hoop
then your item would have a gap between it and the tear-away you slide
underneath the hoop. Or do you put the sticky on the bottom of the hoop and
then
stick it to your item and then slide the stabilizer under the item???

I really love the concept but could you be a little clearer for the more
dense embroidery population? lol.......Thank you in advance......Patty NY

I have an empty 256B stick. In the past I've downloaded designs,
never to be found again! I am new to this group and a new menber to
Sickdesigns. I downloaded a catalogue to my stick, now I want to
download designs into the files they belong, so i can find them. Tell
me how please! do you unzip each file or do you just keep them all
zipped until you want a design? I have windowsxp on my computer and
their win zip program. Thanks, Ruth

Hi,
I am not Tracy, but I can try to help. I use sticky back stabilizer
on almost everything now. Helps not to stretch things, doesn't leave
the mark of the hoop on fabrics and some things, like denim are just
too thick to hoop.
Anyway I use a paper backed sticky stabilizer. I hoop it like I
would hoop regular fabric. Just hoop it by itself. Then take a
seamripper and use the tip to score the paper around the inside edge
of the hoop. Then just peel the paper away and you have a sticky
area inside your hoop. Press your fabric to the sticky surface and
there you go. You can still slide a second stabilizer under the hoop
if you need to.

HI Ruth,

I will try to help...no promises...LOL

I'm not sure about the "stick" I am assuming it is just an external
memory thing you use to store info....my hubby has one of those so
he can take stuff to and from work...anyway...I do have WindowsXP so
I will tell you how I unzip files and maybe it will help.

When you have the zipped file on the screen, you will see in the
menu on the left an "extract all files" option...click this. Then
your unzip window will open. Click NEXT. On the next screen it will
have a box that tells you where the files will be put. By default it
puts things in your temp. folder which is probably where you are
loosing things. You need to click the BROWSE button. THen you can
navigate through the menus and put the files where you want them, or
create the folder you want them in. In either case you will know
where it is putting your designs and how to get back to them. When
you have selected the file you want the designs in Click NEXT and it
will put them there.
Then you are done and can open your files.

I hope this helps....I downleaded lots of things never to be seen
again, until I learned how to keep it from going to the temp
folders. I would get in a hurry and not notice where it was putting
them....LOL
