I agree with all of the three points made by Dr. Farooq.
Now, to answer to his questions:
1. I do think that Maulana Azad did try to be as accurate and fair as
possible in "India Wins Freedom."
2. Muhammad Ali Jinnah fits the title of "founder of Indian partition" the
most.
3. The "Two Nations Theory" was indeed a one-sided thing from the
Pakistan-seekers, unless if you argue about facts like Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel uttering, out of disgust, what can be strongly said as, "give him
(Jinnah) his Pakistan, just kick him out of my face."
To make some general comments:
I agree with Dr. Farooq when he writes "This topic is pertinent to better
understanding of our history, which is essential to understanding our current
problems, and future directions." And because of that, I also feel that this
discussion can very much be part of the topic of "Why are we a least
developed country?"
To people who might think that we are talking about something like an
"Akhanda Bharat in the future," my advice would be "do not sweat, especially
if you are a proud Bangladeshi. No intelligent Indian who cares more about
India than Bangladesh would take back Bangladesh in the foreseeable future,
even if Bangladesh wanted it, which it clearly does not."
Wishing everyone all the best,
