... 2.7K will be fine. There are lots of tolerances in the drive, you might be slightly reducing your motors torque, but I suspect by so small an amount you

Hi Brandon, The resistor controls the current that the 540 outputs. So it is safe to use a resistor that gives less current than what the stepper will take but

2.7k resistors for 2.8 amp motors, Close enough?
I am hooking up some 2.8 amp/phase motors to a gecko g540, it calls for a resistor across pin 1 and 5. For a 2.8 amp motor it says I will need a 2.8k 5% 1/4w
