SGOT is a personally sewn gift /or seasonal item sewing group. We have a *firm* policy of NO ADVERTISING, (including within your “signature line”) on the list, so please do NOT join if you only want to advertise your own web site if it contains ANYTHING for sale, swapping, etc even if it has "free designs" or otherwise. Please no selling in your postings. We are a semi-moderated, “on-topic” sewing group and our main focus is sharing ideas/sewing techniques in order to sew gifts for others ourselves in a timely manner. We help each other set up goals, we each publish ours to the group and complete early so we avoid the frustration that the typical “sewing all night to finish the gift in time” creates. The group helps us with inspiration, shared ideas, ask answer general sewing questions, etc. We WELCOME the sharing of gifts MADE using embellishments such as appliqué, machine embroidery or Sergers, and pictures of them too! However, since the majority of members don’t own a serger, or an “e-machine”, we prefer that members refer to the specific poster privately to ask about any “nuts bolts” technique questions about those gifts. Please, do not ask about where to find designs, make prayer requests, or post virus warnings on SGOT. NO attachments are allowed on the list. Also, flaming, or slamming an individual poster, either on the list or privately, is NOT allowed.
