This group is for homeschoolers in and around Houston who are interested in getting to know and connecting with other homeschoolers in a non-overtly-religious/political environment.

We are a diverse group; some of our members come from multi-cultural, multi-faith backgrounds. It may be that people get the wrong impression that "secular" means we are anti-religion; we are not. As the moderator, I regard spirituality highly and feel that most battles over religion are politically-motivated. I try to keep politics off the boards as our members are largely moderates in the political spectrum. I encourage members to be who they are while striving to be respectful of others. My intention is to provide an environment not restricted to any one religious practice or political perspective in order to facilitate true communication, understanding and learning. It is hoped that should discussion of varying perspectives arise, it can be done in a healthy, respectful manner. Personally, I expect members to join other local lists, homeschool-specific or not, that provide information on current events so as to stay informed of their civic responsibilities.

We are currently based in Katy/West Houston and Bellaire/Inner Loop. There are a members in Cypress and SW Houston who wish to start park days.

Membership to the group and list is free & requires no statements of faith. Membership to the list must be screened/approved by the moderator.
